DETAIL
Day 1 : Antananarivo – Antsirabe
Meet at the airport then drive to Antsirabe along the RN7. Stop at the town of Ambatolampy to do a short visit of the aluminium foundery working mainly on kitchen utensils. Continuation until Antsirabe. Hotel check-in on arrival, dinner and overnight.
Day 2 : Antsirabe – Miandrivazo
Morning hike at Betafo's volcanos region through villages of blacksmith and farmers; terracing fields and waterfall. Picnic lunch. After the hike, drive to Miandrivazo during the whole afternoon. Hotel check-in on arrival, dinner, overnight.
Day 3 : Miandrivazo – Masiakampy – Tsiribihina
After having the breakfast, drive to the small village of Masiakampy for about 1h30. Upon arrival, getting on board of a wooden pirogue and start paddling down the river. The navigation lasts 6 to 7 hours per day. Lunch on the river bank. The first day on the river, you will enjoy the beautiful landscape, people, villages, fisher man. Landing on the river bank late in the afternoon to spend the night on camping. Having the dinner under the moonlight and a sky full of stars.
Day 4 : Tsiribihina
In the morning, paddling from the camp site to reach the beautiful waterfall. A place where you can swim and take a bath before continuing on the river. Passing through the Gorge of Bemaraha. You can see some lemurs, water birds, bats… lunch on the river bank. Camping. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5 : Tsiribihina - Bekopaka
Last morning on the river for about 1 hour sailing. Taking a zebu cart until the small village of Tsiraraka where the car is waiting. Drive to the village of Bekopaka. Stop at the small town of Belo sur tsiribihina for lunch. Then continue driving on a dusty road in the afternoon. Check-in on arrival; diner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 : Bekopaka
Full day trekking into the Grand Tsingy which is at 17km from the village of Bekopaka that you reach by car and accompanied by your guide and equipped with shoulder harnesses, explore the Tsingy, high of 30 to 50 m. Walkways and wooden bridges, well integrated into the landscape, will help you to continue more easily your visit to the area of Great Tsingy. Picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : Bekopaka
Morning river trip with a dugout pirogue at the gorge of Manambolo for 2 hours, to see caves of stalactites and old tombs of Vazimba people. After the goerge of Manambolo, starts the visit of the small tsingy. Back to the hotel for lunch. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8 : Bekopaka – Kirindy
Drive off road to Kirindy forest during the morning. Stop at Belo sur Tsiribihina for lunch then crossing Tsiribihina river by a ferry boat. Drive until Kirindy. Check-in and afternoon at leisure before the evening walk into the forest to see several species of nocturnal lemurs, jumping rat and some reptiles. Dinner & overnight at the Gite Kirindy.
Day 9 : Kirindy – Morondava
Morning walk at the forest with the local guide to discover the large variety of its flora, medicinal plants and the two species of diurnal lemurs. Lunch then drive to Morondava in the afternoon, stop at the avenue of baobab to wait for the sunset. Check in, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 : Morondava – Belo/ Mer
Morning drive to Belo sur mer to the south by crossing some river without bridges!! Arrival around midday, hotel check-in; lunch and visit of the fishermen's village in the afternoon and to see several boat constructions. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11 : Belo/ Mer – Manja
Leave the small town of fisherman in the morning to reach the village of Manja. It takes about 6 hours to join Manja. We go through the Salines, baobabs, spiny bushes and trees, small villages. Picnic lunch. Arriving late afternoon, installation at the hotel. Diner and overnight.
Day 12 : Manja – Andavadoaka
Rough road to join the Mangoky river. Ferry boat crossing and challenge the sandy bank of the river to reach the other side of the river. Then drive on broken tar from Mangoky river until the town of Morombe which looks like a ghost town. The last part of the road today is more enjoyable with some nicely shaped baobabs and spiny forest before Andavadoka village.
Day 13 : Andavadoaka
Day at leisure. Here is a nice place to relax and enjoy little walk around the village. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 14 : Andavadoaka - Salary
Another day enjoying the adventure along the coast with nice views on idyllic beaches and dunes. Reach Salary, a small fisherman village looking onto a blue sea and white sand. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 15 : Salary
Day at leisure. Possibility to have some boat excursion or walk in the village. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 16 : Salary – Ifaty
Morning drive following the west coast until Ifaty through sand and rocks. The landscape is changing from the blue sea to dusty bushes and trees. Arriving in Ifaty, check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit of the spiny forest to learn more about different species of plants that are endemic to Madagascar. Meet some birds and reptiles. After the visit, drive back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 17 : Ifaty
Morning excursion with local pirogue for snorkeling at a protected reserve, half an hour away from the beach of Ifaty. Enjoy beautiful view of the corals and colorful fishes. Free afternoon. Diner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 18 : Ifaty – Ranohira
After the visit, drive to Ranohira via Tulear where we stop for lunch. Continuation until Ranohira. Sunset on the window of Isalo. Check-in at the hotel. Diner and overnight.
Day 19 : Ranohira
Morning hike into the national park. Isalo national Park extends over 81,540 hectares. This massive ruiniform is a Jurassic sandstone mountain. Heavily eroded, only the parceled witnessed by the sandy valleys and canyons have remained : a terrific show. The hike start by visiting the cascade de Nymphe into the canyon of Namazà before walking up to the plateau then hike towards the "piscine naturelle" where we can take a bath. Picnic lunch is provided while hiking. Back to the hotel in the afternoon. Later; drive to the "fenêtre de l'Isalo" to wait for sunset. Diner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 20 : Ranohira – Ranomafana
Full day drive through the largest plateau of Horombe and the town of Ihosy. Stop at Anja park to spot the ring tailed lemurs and some chameleons. Continue until the city of Ambalavao where we have lunch. After lunch, drive on to Ranomafana. Hotel check in on arrival, dinner and overnight.
Day 21 : Ranomafana
Day to explore Ranomafana national park, hiking in the park with a local guide to see some species of diurnal lemurs, reptiles, birds and various plants. Back to the hotel for lunch, then afternoon visit of the village. Evening walk along the road to spot some nocturnal animals for about 1h30 . Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 22 : Ranomafana – Antsirabe
Drive to Antsirabe along the beautiful landscape of the Betsileo people. Stop at Ambositra to visit the arts craft markets where you can find all malagasy arts, totems, and many other sculptures in rosewood, ebony, ... Upon arrival; check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit of the city. Dinner and overnight.
Day 23 : Antsirabe – Andasibe
Morning departure from Antsirabe to Andasibe with a stop at "Madagascar Exotic Park" on the road to see several genus of reptile. Upon arrival in Andasibe, check in at the hotel near the reserve. Dinner and overnight.
Day 24 : Andasibe
Morning drive to Mantadia NP to discover the diademed Sifaka and a lot of wildlife during 3 to 4 hours hike inside the primary forest. Picnic lunch inside the park then drive to Vakona private reserve to see lemurson a small island. Evening walk to spot nocturnal lemurs, reptiles, chaméléons... Dinner and overnight.
Day 25 : Andasibe – Tananarive
Morning visit at Analamazaotra reserve in search of some species of lemurs , especially the biggest one, the Indri indri then back to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon drive to the capital for about 4 hours. On arrival, transfer to the hotel near the airport. Dinner and overnight.
